Life Way Training Institute is an accredited educational institution located in Cairo, Georgia, founded by Dr. Julene Smith in 2011. We offer a high-quality CNA program for individuals seeking to become Certified Nursing Assistants. Our seven-week program has a three-day-per-week class schedule, providing personalized attention to help students enhance their skills and knowledge.


Our Story
At Life Way Training Institute, we are committed to providing educational opportunities and upskilling students in rural Georgia, aiming to help people take their career path to the next level. What sets Life Way Training Institute apart is our low flat rate, completion of clinicals at a local Nursing Home, faster graduation, and training by compassionate instructors who lead by example. Our mission is to provide students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in their chosen careers.

Founder

Dr. Julene Smith
Founder and Instructor
Julene is a is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Nursing Professor at Valdosta State University. She graduated from VSU with a bachelor’s degree in nursing in 1988. In 2008 she earned a master’s degree in Nurse Educator, from Albany State University and in 2015 she earned a certificate as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Julene has worked in outpatient and inpatient settings with mental health patients. Her most enjoyable and thought-provoking experiences occurred during her time at South Western State Hospital. During that time, she cared for multiple people who lived with mental illness and developed an overwhelming compassion to help them return to wellness. She is currently securing a Doctorate of Nurse Practitioner degree at Georgia College State University to remain knowledgeable of the latest research. Her research is directed toward increasing mental health literacy among African American Parishioners in Rural Georgia.
Julene practices at Renewed Minds, South Georgia Medical Center and Greenleaf in Valdosta. In addition to her extensive Psychiatric experience, Julene has been married for 23 years, has four children and enjoys studying the Bible. She was saved in 1997 and has spent extensive time studying apologetics and the New Testament.
